Inside Crystal River, Issue #85
October 25, 2026
Good morning, Crystal River, and happy Sunday! It's a mostly sunny one with a high of 80, a low of 66 and a breeze up to about 19 mph. Today is National Greasy Foods Day, so here's your question: are you treating yourself to a seafood plate from Brooks Dockside Seafood, on today's food truck list in Inglis from 11 AM to 8 PM?
In the news, a county records manager mistakenly attached a spreadsheet of employee personal information to a public records response, and the fallout could cost taxpayers up to $25,000. County Commission Chair Diana Finegan wants tougher development rules and plans to raise it at Monday's 1 p.m. meeting in Inverness. The Betz Farm developer is questioning why the hearing stopped, and weekly pay in Citrus County runs $536 below the state average. On the field, the Pirates kept the trophy with a 30-17 win over Citrus.
Looking ahead, Fishing and Fellowship starts at 8 AM today at Fort Island Trail Park, and Jorge Valentine plays Crystal Harley-Davidson from noon to 3. Unlimited Shaved Ice Cafe is at Howard's Flea Market until 3. Monday brings a Halloween costume parade at Lakes Region Library and the Graveyard Glow up at Bowlero at 6 PM. No restaurant specials are listed, so reply and tell us your favorite spot. Here's to a glow-in-the-dark good week!
