Happy World Temperance Day! It's an odd one to land the same week Citrus County planners are weighing whether to expand alcohol sales near a Homosassa elementary school, church and park. We'll let you be the judge of the timing.

Today's issue also has Betz Farm's 1,466 proposed homes raising questions well beyond Crystal River's city limits, a fresh look at Kings Bay's 35-year overcrowding problem, and the Citrus County Chronicle's call for your cancer story in just three words. Plus Citrus County Fire Rescue is celebrating two service anniversaries, and it's Homecoming Week at both Seven Rivers Christian and Crystal River High.

Out and about this weekend? Jessie's Place returns to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Saturday, Steel Rodeo hits The Crossroads Lodge, and Brooks Dockside Seafood and Spice Corner are both rolling through town. Let's get into it.
