Saturday night in the Town Square is still the talk of the town. The City of Crystal River gave a big shoutout to the band 40 Years 2 Late for headlining a packed crowd downtown, and if that's the kind of night you're into, this week brings more of it: the 6th Annual C4Con comic and cosplay convention at the Homosassa Public Library, a 90s and 2000s rock set from Against the Fall at Papa Willie's, and Spice Corner's Indian food truck rolling through Crystal River twice on Thursday.

On the school side, Kathy Androski is trading 32 years in Citrus County education, including a stint as the district's Technology Director, for more time at the beach. Crystal River's girls golf team is off to a strong start too, topping Hernando 240-250 behind Ava Raiford's round of 48, even as the football team is still shaking off a 49-28 loss to Chiefland. Juniors and seniors who still need to clear their ELA or Math graduation requirement should mark Wednesday, Sept. 16 for the CLT Exam, and Citrus County Schools' Exceptional Student Education Department has a Transition Fair planned for Oct. 10.
