Inside Crystal River, Issue #48
September 18, 2026

Good morning, Crystal River! If you've noticed the Withlacoochee running higher than it should near Dunnellon, county officials say the weather isn't the main problem. Thick hydrilla growth is choking the river's flow, and a minor flood warning remains in effect while crews sort it out.

In other local news, four Crystal River radio stations are pending a $2.5 million sale, Citrus County Sheriff David Vincent just landed a seat on a statewide commission, and the City honored its Direct Support Professionals this week for their work with New Horizons Village.

Plus, there's plenty happening around town: a charity Jail and Bail night, live music on the river, a LEGO Build and Chill for the kids, and Brynn's Bytes rolling into an evening food truck stop. Grab your coffee and dig in.
