Inside Crystal River, Issue #41
September 11, 2026

A motorcycle vest that once belonged to someone in Crystal River has turned up in a vintage shop in Genoa, Italy, and the Italian couple who bought it hopes to track down its original owner using the patches sewn across the back. It's one of several stories we're following this week, alongside PGA HOPE's return this fall with free golf sessions for local veterans and the 6th Annual C4Con bringing comics and cosplay to the Homosassa Public Library on Saturday.

Today also marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks, and Citrus County is pausing to remember. Lecanto High School is holding a ceremony in Panther Stadium at 8:20 this morning, and Nature Coaster has shared a personal remembrance alongside a roundup of memorial events happening around the Nature Coast today. In other local news, Citrus County Fire Rescue says an e-bike battery charging area sparked a house fire in Homosassa that displaced one resident and killed two pets, the county's landfill fees are adjusting Oct. 1, several of the county's environmental groups are joining forces on water quality and development issues, and commissioners approved a redevelopment plan clearing the way for a Chipotle and a Starbucks at the long-vacant U.S. 19 and West Homosassa Trail corner.

On the school front, Lecanto Middle edged Crystal River Middle in a back-and-forth volleyball rivalry, and School Board member Thomas Kennedy stopped by Citrus Springs Elementary for a special storytime. And if you've got a soft spot for kittens, Citrus County Animal Services could use your help fostering this season. Scroll down for the rest of the week's events, food trucks and live music around town.

Your K-Cup Has Been Sitting in a Warehouse for Months

That grocery store pod? It was roasted long before it hit the shelf. Coffee starts losing flavor within weeks of roasting — which is why your morning cup tastes flat, no matter how nice your machine is.

Angelino's does it differently. A third-generation roaster in Los Angeles, they roast, grind, and seal every pod in-house for peak freshness, then ship it to your door within days of roasting. The difference is the first thing you'll notice: real aroma, real flavor, no bitterness.

Mix and match from 50+ specialty coffees, teas, and flavored blends — all Keurig®-compatible — and save more with every box you add, up to 34% off at 12+. Order once whenever you're running low, or subscribe for an extra 5% if that's easier. Entirely up to you.

New customers get 15% off their first order — applied automatically, no code needed.
